Job Description:
Headquartered in Lincoln NE the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) employs nearly 2300 team members operating nine institutions statewide which house approximately 5800 inmates. The departments focus includes inmate programming and education physical and behavioral health care re-entry services and community programs and is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). DUTIES:
- Facilitates requests for support/assistance to all NDCS facilities and coordination of intel assets on an ongoing basis.
- Provides direct oversite and support to all adjunct intel analysts assigned to CCCL CCCO NCYF NCCW and WEC.
- Formulates and distributes intelligence reports uses Intel databases to monitor inmates and identify potential threats.
- Conducts department intel threat meetings/briefings as necessary.
- Submits administrative reports and intelligence products as assigned.
- Reviews updates and develops Intelligence related policies and processes.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or a related Behavioral Science field plus four years correctional related experience or an Associate degree plus six years correctional related experience or High School education or equivalent plus eight years correctional related experience. One year of the experience must have been in a responsible supervisory capacity. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Experience in developing and understanding trends in culture that affect organizations. Experience gathering and fusing intelligence in a prison setting and/or high security environment. Experience preparing and interpreting reports.
Other: Must have a valid drivers license. Successful completion of background check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and at a randomly announced time pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
