Summary of Job Duties:

The Graduate Assistant/Wellness Ambassador will assist the Wellness and Belonging units in their outreach efforts educational programs and marketing initiatives. The Graduate Assistant/Wellness Ambassador will play a vital role in promoting health mental well-being and disability awareness across the campus community. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education;

  • Regular admission to agraduatedegree program or good standing with theGraduateSchool for continuinggraduatestudents;

  • Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Market Wellness and Belonging departments;

  • Help staff with Wellness and Belonging events;

  • Assist in designing and maintaining Counseling Services (CS) Disability Resouce Center (DRC) Health Services (HS) and Safe Zone (SZ) websites;

  • Plan organize and conduct outreach programs and events aimed at promoting overall health and well-being among students staff and faculty;

  • Develop and facilitate educational workshops on topics such as stress management mental health nutrition physical fitness disability awareness and self-care;

  • Create promotional materials such as posters brochures and social media content to advertise upcoming events and services offered by the three departments;

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with student organizations campus departments and local community groups to enhance the impact and reach of health promotion initiatives;

  • Ensure that all wellness promotions and events are accessible and inclusive;

  • Manage social media accounts using platforms like Facebook and Instagram to engage and educate the campus community about health and wellness topics;

  • Provide office coverage as needed (greet visitors answer phones and provide appropriate information);

  • Run errands on campus as needed;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously on a deadline;

  • Strong oral and written communication skills;

  • Skillful at creating and distributing health promotions and marketing materials for social media;

  • Video editing and graphic design skills;

  • Ability to work independently.

Salary Information:

$8000 stipend
