The Opportunity
The Dietitian reporting to the Director of Care oversees dietary requirements on behalf of residents their families the staff and the community at large utilizing a holistic framework. The Dietitian is a member of the care team collaborating on the delivery of resident care to meet resident and family related to nutritional and dietary needs.
What You Will Do
Complete timely nutrition assessments for all new residents and contribute to RAI-MDS assessments where applicable.
Develop and update individualized care plans including diet orders texture modifications and therapeutic diets.
Assess swallowing abilities within scope and collaborate with nurses and physicians as needed.
Provide education to residents families and staff on nutrition and dietary best practices.
Communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support quality resident care.
Consult with residents and families to address nutrition-related concerns and ensure resident-centered dietary planning.
What You Bring
Bachelors degree in Dietetics from a recognized university program.
Eligibility for registration or current registration with the provincial regulatory body (e.g. College of Dietitians of BC).
Fluent in English both orally and in writing
Previous clinical nutrition experience in a health care setting preferred.
Experience working with older adults or in gerontology is considered an asset.
