Job Responsibilities:
- Assists and anticipates needs of Anesthesiologist in invasive monitor insertion and procedures such as pulmonary artery catheter central venous access fiberoptic intubation and difficult airway situations per hospital policy.
- Demonstrates detailed technical knowledge and troubleshooting ability for anesthesia delivery systems gas analyzer EKG and pulse oximeter per manufacture guidelines.
- Prepares and assembles all necessary supplies and equipment for auto-transfusion and rapid infusion under the direction of the anesthesia provider. Maintains quality control records cart inventories and audits per OSHA and TJC standards and hospital policies.
- Performs manufacturer recommended daily anesthesia machine checks according to Standard Work Document.
- Assists in preparation and draping of the patient for invasive monitoring procedures by the anesthesia care provider.
- Assists with the correct application of monitoring devices. Manages fluid and blood/blood product administration.
- Retrieves and delivers products to and from blood bank. Accompanies the anesthesia provider to the appropriate care unit.
- Transports medications from pharmacy or authorized location (e.g. pneumatic tube system) to licensed healthcare professional.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification - Basic Life Support Upon
- Experience - 6 months in a Clinical Environment
- Education - High School or GED
