FLOATER $250.00 HIRING BONUS AVAILABLE! JOB DUTIES SUMMARY: May with minimal supervision work in any area of day services programs. Responsible for supervision care and training of clients or groups of clients in various settings. Responsible for ensuring safety and well-being of clients. Required to perform essential functions of job description for position to which assigned. May be required to transport clients. May be required to work at various locations with various groups of clients and in any STARC-operated facility. ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to Adult Services Coordinator or Adult Services Administrator ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Works schedules as defined by program activities and operational calendar.
- Works with one or more clients or groups of clients as assigned by Adult Services Coordinator or Adult Services Administrator
- Instructs and assists clients in accordance with their demonstrated abilities and interests.
- Utilizes behavior management techniques to teach and modify clients behavior.
- Maintains accurate reports per established procedures and timelines.
- Utilizes information pertaining to daily client activities and records required information through individual tracking charts daily individual reports incident reports injury reports etc.
- Assists clients and/or performs tasks as necessary when assigned to supervise client/workers in enclaves and/or mobile work crews
- Provides clients with training in independent and daily living skills mobility skills social development and/or vocational and work-related skills that are specific and unique to needs of clients in areas to which assigned.
- Provides clients with training in hygiene dressing and grooming as appropriate and needed.
- Ensures adherence to training and supports specified in each clients individual plan of care.
- Assists clients as needed with participation in recreational activities physical exercise art music dance drama community outings etc.
- Assists in transporting clients when appropriate and indicated in service plan(s).
- Maintains open communication and close working relationships with program staff and professionals.
- Provides for the general cleanliness of assigned work/training areas.
- Participates in all in-service training mandated for position.
- Assists in requisitioning receiving and storing of equipment and supplies used in maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the facility to which assigned.
- Completes all required paperwork in accurate and timely manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Direct Care-Day Programs Heavy Work: Job tasks are classified as heavy work that requires occasional lifting of 50- 100 pounds and frequent lifting carrying pushing pulling and otherwise moving objects of 25 50 pounds. Requires frequent walking standing stooping and bending. The employee is also required to restrain adult individuals with intellectual developmental and physical disabilities when their behavior is aggressive. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: - Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: - High school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disABILITIES
- Ability to read write speak and understand the English language
- Ability to relate to individuals with intellectual and developmental disABILITIES in a manner which will facilitate their growth and development
- Completion of direct care employees mandatory in-service training modules
- Current CPR & First Aid certification.
- Valid drivers license and good driving record.
