Job Description
Career Assessment CounselorAs a Career Assessment Counselor at Unity Academy High School at EducationalSolutions Co. the successful candidate will play a vital role in guiding students towardssuccessful career paths by providing comprehensive assessments counseling andsupport services. Primary responsibility will be to assist students in understanding theirstrengths interests and aspirations and to help them make informed decisionsregarding their educational and career goals.1. Career Assessments: Conduct individual and group career assessments to helpstudents identify their strengths interests and potential career paths. Providepersonalized counseling sessions to discuss assessment results and assist students indeveloping academic and career plans aligned with their goals.2. Personalized Guidance: Providing individualized guidance and counseling sessions tostudents based on their assessment results. Assisting students in exploring differentcareer paths setting realistic goals and developing action plans to achieve them.3. Academic Support: Collaborating with teachers administrators and otherstakeholders to identify academic challenges and develop strategies to address students academic progress and providing interventions as needed toensure success.4. Resource Referral: Connecting students with relevant resources programs andopportunities both within the school and in the community. Offering guidance oncollege applications financial aid internships and career development workshops.5. Crisis Intervention: Providing immediate support and intervention to studentsexperiencing personal or academic crises. Collaborating with appropriate schoolpersonnel and external agencies to ensure students receive the necessary assistanceand support.6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of student assessmentscounseling sessions and interventions. Generating reports and documentation to trackstudents progress and outcomes.7. Utilization of Naviance: Implement and utilize Naviance a comprehensive college andcareer readiness platform to facilitate career exploration goal setting and collegeplanning activities. Train students and families on how to effectively navigate and utilizeNaviance resources.8. Professional Development: Staying informed about current trends best practices andresources in career counseling and education. Participating in professionaldevelopment activities to enhance skills and : Bachelors or Masters degree in Counseling Education Psychology or relatedfield. Previous experience in career counseling academic advising or related fieldpreferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with students fromdiverse backgrounds. Excellent communication and listening skills. Knowledge of career assessment tools and techniques. Ability to work collaboratively with students parents faculty and staff. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Familiarity with educational software and technology Our Team!
