Position Title: Commercial Insurance Producer - Specialty Risks
Type: Hybrid / Full-Time (Greater Toronto Area)

Key Responsibilities

As the Commercial Insurance Producer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a profitable book of business focused on unique high-value sectors. Your key responsibilities will include:

Client Acquisition & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new commercial clients within niche and specialty markets including but not limited to fine art and jewellers block.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline through networking referrals cold outreach and market research.
  • Strategically grow your portfolio while identifying long-term relationship and cross-sell opportunities.

Tailored Insurance Solutions

  • Assess the risk profiles of potential and existing clients to create customized insurance programs aligned with their unique needs.
  • Work closely with underwriting partners and support teams to ensure accuracy in quoting binding and policy execution.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing high-touch service and expert guidance to clients.
  • Proactively manage renewals resolve client concerns and adjust coverage to reflect business changes.

Industry Expertise & Market Insight

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends specialty markets and evolving risks.
  • Provide strategic input to internal teams based on client feedback and market conditions.

Team Collaboration

  • Work alongside account managers administrative staff and leadership to ensure seamless onboarding and exceptional service delivery.
  • Share knowledge and participate in team sessions to promote continuous improvement and collaboration.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:

Licensing & Experience

  • A diploma or degree in Business Insurance or a related field is preferred.
  • RIBO license is preferred.
  • 57 years of experience in commercial insurance sales or account management ideally with exposure to niche or specialty markets.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with insurance quoting platforms CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Applied Epic is an asset.
  • Familiarity with specialty insurance markets and high-value commercial lines is advantageous.

  • Self-starter with a proactive entrepreneurial mindset and a track record of working independently.
  • Strong consultative sales and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication abilities both written and verbal.
