About the Unit
Family Birth Center is a 19 bed unit that provides care for pregnant women. The care on the unit ranges from the delivery and recovery of the mother with a normal uncomplicated term pregnancy to that of a high-risk mother both pre-term and post-delivery. The unit includes a 6 bed natural birth center 6 bed triage 4 operating rooms and a 4 bed recovery room. Antepartum is a 14 bed unit that provides care for women of all ages. The main population is women with complications of pregnancy and health related problems during pregnancy. In addition when volume demands Antepartum also provides care to NICU postpartum mothers and gynecology patients.
Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the #2 hospital in Michigan and one of the top hospitals in the country. It is a major academic and referral center with Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations. The advanced capabilities and clinical expertise within this center have earned it Magnet designation four consecutive times and has the distinct honor of housing Michigans first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.
Scope of work
Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse. Clerical/manages supplies/equipment in designated care areas. Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care unit routine and hospital policy. Documents in electronic medical
record. Acts as a receptionist and organizes daily work assignment based on unit priorities. Organizes daily work assignments based on unit priorities. Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis. Performs other duties as assigned.
Orientation
This position requires afull weekof corporate orientation. The schedule is Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. You will be required to attend the entire week consecutively.
