The Consumer Platform team is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to help drive technical excellence for Android. The team is dedicated to delivering superior performance reliability and user experience on all 7 platforms Roblox runs on. This team ensures a seamless and engaging user interface that facilitates intuitive interactions alongside maintaining high performance and reliability for efficient glitch-free operations. Innovation is at the core of our work as we continuously enhance features and integrate cutting-edge technologies to find novel solutions to problems.
You Will:
- Bring delightful experience on mobile apps used by tens of millions of users everyday.
- Lead the architecture design and implementation of the Android platform.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of exceptional engineers.
- Partner with product and design leaders to bring crazy ideas to life.
- Continuously measure and improve app performance across the technical stack.
- Bring in latest industry trends technologies and best practices in mobile development.
- Drive the adoption of engineering best practices across teams.
You Have:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in client software development with focus on mobile apps.
- Deep expertise with native Android (Kotlin/Java) development.
- Cross-platform development experience with C and hardware APIs is a plus.
- Proven track record of leading the development of high-quality mobile applications.
- Experience with modern mobile architectures with very large codebases.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Ability to collaborate with many teams throughout the engineering organization
- Curiosity to learn new technologies and systematically grow your skills.
