The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO University of Ottawa is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Rheumatologist within the Division of Dermatology and Rheumatology.
The ideal candidate will be Royal College certified (or equivalent) and have a subspecialty certification in Pediatric Rheumatology. Additional specialized clinical education or research training would be beneficial but is not required. The successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty appointment in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa at an academic rank commensurate with experience. While English is the language of the health record functionality in French is an asset.
The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO University of Ottawa is recruiting a full time Rheumatologist within the Division of Dermatology and Rheumatology.
The Department of Pediatrics is affiliated with CHEO the CHEO Research Institute and the University of Ottawa. Together we provide outstanding patient care leading research and quality pediatric medical education. The Department of Pediatrics provides health care to newborns children and youth of the Ottawa area as well as those from Eastern Ontario Western Quebec Nunavut and parts of Northern Ontario (population of approximately 1.8 million). The Department of Pediatrics has 18 distinct divisions which includes Dermatology and Rheumatology.
The division covers the entire spectrum of rheumatic diseases including inflammatory arthritides connective tissue diseases and systemic vasculitides. Several high end ultrasound machines are available for the exclusive use of the division at the point of care. The division is actively engaged in research and division members hold several national and international collaborative grants as principal investigators.
The Division of Dermatology and Rheumatology is actively recruiting a full time rheumatologist on the clinician-teacher pathway with a major focus on clinical care but with significant additional time devoted to education and/or research. The successful candidates will join 3 other full-time rheumatologists and work with a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals consisting of Nurses a Physiotherapist and Social Worker. Clinical service and on call will be shared equally among the physician group.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a hospital- based academic practice engage in teaching and participate in innovative research and advocacy. He/ she will be appointed at the University of Ottawa academic rank commensurate with experience and academic accomplishment.
