We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (LDRP) to join a high-volume fast-paced unit. This contract position requires a strong clinical background in labor and delivery antepartum postpartum and newborn care. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned traveler with at least 2 years of recent L&D experience and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive care to patients during labor delivery recovery and postpartum (LDRP model).
Conduct initial triage of obstetrical patients and manage high-risk antepartum conditions.
Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate Insulin drips Antihypertensives and Anticoagulants.
Perform sterile vaginal exams circulate for C-sections and assist in the use and calibration of IUPCs (Intrauterine Pressure Catheters).
Maintain and manage central lines (CVC/PICC) IV therapy and phlebotomy.
Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal status documenting in Epic EMR system.
Follow strict infection control protocols including isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated maternal and neonatal care.
Deliver patient education and emotional support during all phases of care.
Precept and mentor newer staff when required.
Minimum 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience.
Seasoned travel nursing experience is required.
Precepting experience is highly preferred.
BLS (Basic Life Support) Required
