Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and versatile Surveyor with expertise in land surveying construction layout quantity surveying and GIS mapping. The role involves performing field measurements spatial analysis construction stakeouts and cost estimation to support engineering and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced with modern survey equipment and software and capable of delivering accurate high-quality data and documentation across a range of project types.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Land & Construction Surveying
Conduct field surveys using total stations RTK GPS levels and laser scanners.
Establish property boundaries construction control points and elevation benchmarks.
Perform layout and alignment for buildings roads utilities and other civil structures.
Create topographic maps cross-sections and as-built drawings.
Ensure alignment and elevation compliance during construction execution.
2. Quantity Surveying
Prepare quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from construction drawings.
Assist in project cost estimation budgeting and tender preparation.
Track and verify quantities for interim and final payments.
Monitor material usage and prepare cost variance reports.
Collaborate with clients contractors and procurement teams for cost control.
3. GIS & Mapping
Collect spatial data using GNSS UAV (drones) and mobile mapping technologies.
Process geospatial data and develop GIS-based maps and models using software like ArcGIS or QGIS.
Analyze and visualize spatial relationships for planning and design purposes.
Manage geospatial databases and maintain survey records digitally.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Surveying Civil Engineering Geomagnetic or a related field.
- 3 5 years of experience in surveying preferably across multiple project types.
- Proficiency with total stations GNSS/GPS systems digital levels and survey software.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS tools (e.g. ArcGIS/QGIS).
- Strong understanding of local land laws engineering drawings and construction methods.
- Excellent mathematical analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certification from recognized surveying bodies (e.g. RICS NSPS ISI etc.).
Experience with BIM and 3D scanning (e.g. LiDAR laser scanning).
Familiarity with drone-based surveying and photographer.
Good interpersonal and communication skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
