Job DescriptionAs the Director of Engineering Yield Optimization youll help shape the future of our Retail Media Network (RMN) platform. This is a unique opportunity to apply your leadership and technical expertise in the dynamic world of ad tech. In this role youll lead the development of advanced algorithms for supply and audience forecasting campaign optimization and yield optimization. Youll build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and data scientists fostering a culture of experimentation inclusion and continuous learning. Partnering closely with product business and technology leaders youll define foundational architecture and product requirements. This role demands strong technical acumen strategic thinking and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
This role is remote eligible which means you would work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.
What youll do- Lead the development of the portfolio of algorithms required for advertising optimization and forecasting for supply and demand.
- Build up expertise in ad-tech for your team so that can understand the ad-tech ecosystem and effectively design solutions.
- Hire attract and retain top talent creating a cohesive culture that fosters innovation transparent and collaboration
- Set performance and development plans for team leaders. Provide regular feedback and coaching to enhance potential. Recognize team successes and challenges
Basic qualifications- 8 years of experience advertising optimization and forecasting with both supply-side and demand-side experience.
- 6 years of increasing responsibility leading teams
- PhD in computer science mathematics physics or a similar quantitative discipline
- Expertise in ML operations analytics forecasting optimization
- Experience working in Python Spark and SQL
Preferred qualifications- Experience leading the development of ad serving and optimization systems at scale at a DSP or SSP.
- Pivoting teams from project delivery to agile practices and then transforming to a product led operating model
- Assessing skills needed on the team and work to fill those roles by hiring and training an inclusive diverse team
- Deeply understanding the value of and the ability to enable collaboration between engineers product managers decision scientists and leaders
- Excellent communication skills especially when working with a distributed team
- Ability to review patterns and code and provide thoughtful constructive feedback
