Our client a company specializing in material handling equipment and lifting devices is looking for an Inspector Electromechanics who will be responsible for conducting audits and reviews of various industrial equipment to ensure compliance with technical drawings customer specifications and applicable standards as well as ensuring their optimization and safety. This position is a contract position 40 hours/week on site.
The contractor will perform various tasks related to electromechanical engineering such as reviewing specifications and standards audits tests analysis simulations writing reports and recommendations on a short medium or long-term basis.
- Acts autonomously in scheduling inspections and various on-site interventions in agreement and in collaboration with client and their representatives.
- Determine and analyze client needs;
- Prepare and issue annual inspection schedule
- Plan and prepare work to be completed on-site at the clients location (documents equipment etc.);
- Ensure that all equipment required to perform the work is operating properly and within the period of validity of calibration. Ensure the required spare parts are purchased and available
- Consult with the client to obtain information required for completion of the work;
- Coordinate on-site work at client locations to meet project timelines.
- Ensure that on-site work completed at the clients location is consistent with the mandate is completed on time and is conducted in a professional manner with meticulous attention to detail in order to provide excellent service;
- Review applicable laws and standards;
- Keep up to date with applicable laws and standards; send suggestions to the Standards Committee
- Review technical specifications;
- Review reports and test records;
- Prepare and issue annual testing procedures
- Perform or witness operational testing;
- Ensure applicable procedures are implemented;
- Perform equipment inspections according to criteria indicated in the specifications and regulations;
- Communicate with the client when requested by his/her immediate supervisor and/or coordinator;
- Complete various forms and records related to the task;
- Inform the client when nonconformities or opportunities for improvement arise after carrying out the work;
- Attend meetings or special events upon client requests;
- Prepare clear and concise reports within the prescribed time frames (usually within one month after work completion);
- Make recommendations on equipment operation optimization safety and maintenance
- Write instruction inspection and maintenance manuals;
- Perform related tasks such as data entry filing photocopying issuing certificates and special projects.
- Ensure that the tests they supervise are carried out safely and according to the current health and safety rules and procedures. Immediately report any unsafe condition to their supervisor or Operational Integrity Manager
Qualifications :
- University degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent degree.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in inspection and testing of equipment.
- Knowledge of heavy engineering electromechanics and control.
- Experience in operational testing and optimization of mechanical equipment.
- Experience with inspections and testing of lifting equipment.
- Experience with overhead crane structural components manufacturing is an asset.
- Experience in Thermography and vibration analysis
- Experience in data acquisition systems considered an asset
- Experience in technical staff supervision considered an asset
- Certificate in mechanical structural inspection electrical control and vibration analysis is an asset.
- Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced highly professional environment.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure.
- Ensures full compliance with the companys Health & Safety Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct policies.
- Salary range: 50K to 70K depending on the candidates experience.
