Job Description
We are currently seeking to add an Underwriter to our Renewals Sales Team. This position is responsible for examining and evaluating incoming insurance applications to determine appropriate coverage and pricing while following the mandated guidelines. Our underwriters focus on essentially asking these two questions: Should we write the policy for this customer What is a reasonable price for the risk we would endure by writing this policy
The ideal candidate for this position will be detail oriented creative a customer advocate and be able to work independently as well as tactfully across organizational boundaries.
Job Duties:
- Reviews applications and provides quotations for coverage within acceptable expiration guidelines.
- Evaluates and rates each risk to determine certification coverage and pricing to prepare quotes.
- Communicates with account coordinator to ensure all documentation is received to warrant coverage.
- Replies to agent/broker carriers in a timely and professional manner regarding client questions and documentation.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to adhere to a work schedule and work independently in a remote/hybrid setting.
- Proficient verbal and non-verbal communication skills; able to read and interpret documents and produce routine reports and correspondences.
