Job Description
Certifications:
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) (may be obtained week of orientation)
Preferred: Clinical Technician training program.
Minimum Work Experience
Required - 1 year of experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant Clinical Services Technician or other clinical position in a hospital setting.
Minimum Education
SGNA GTS GI Technical Specialist credential within 6 months of hire

Under the supervision of an RN performs basic patient care and clerical/administrative activities.
- Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN including monitoring vital signs possibly taking blood glucose measurements and recording intake and output.
- Ensures supplies and equipment are available and in working condition including instrument sterilization.
- Performs designated sterile and aseptic procedures using proper technique (i.e. venipuncture and phlebotomy IV insertions and foley insertions). Maintains sterile field while handling instruments during procedures.
