Job Description
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITIONS IN THIS CLASS: Under general direction performs work in the maintenance repair and remodeling of public buildings and installed facilities; performs building and equipment repairs.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND PERFORMANCE:
Essential Duties:
Performs maintenance of public buildings:
- Performs carpentry painting concrete work and maintenance of public buildings and installed equipment.
- Moves various equipment furniture and other objects.
- Repairs broken windows.
- Paints and stains.
- Maintains heating and cooling system.
- Troubleshoots various mechanical systems within the public buildings.
- Performs preventative maintenance on various systems within the public buildings
- Constructs facilities.
- Maintains electric door locks in jail.
- Repairs sewer lines and plumbing fixtures.
- Maintains jail facility
Arranges and sets up furniture:
- Sets up and prepares rooms and facilities for use by groups.
- Assists in moving and arranging furniture and equipment.
Other Duties: Performs related duties as assigned
