SHIELDSmission is to develop deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.
The Therapist provides crisis intervention intake assessment individual family and group therapy to adults children and families with a history of mental illness. This includes coordinating support services to assist clients with independent living. The Therapist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining documentation of client services within clients charts ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures Department of Mental Health contract and other related agencies standards and guidelines.
SHIELDS Genesis Program serves adult parenting women with children 0-18 who have a short or moderate-term history of substance abuse. Genesis provides services in both English and Spanish. Genesis provides outpatient and intensive outpatient services. Children with mothers enrolled in Genesis can participate in our Child Development Center or Heros and Sheros.
