Were looking for a passionate and experienced RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us as a Head RVN at our thriving Medivet Evegate practice a truly unique clinic that combines the variety of first-opinion small animal work with the excitement of caring for a broad range of exotic species.

As a key leader within the team youll play a vital role in delivering outstanding patient care mentoring junior team members and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Were looking for someone who is experienced in small animal practice as well as with some extoics expereinces as this is essential and confident in leading a team. Youll be proactive organised and passionate about high standards of care with strong communication and teamwork skills. If you have experience with exotics or a keen interest in developing itthis is the perfect environment to build on that knowledge though exotic experience is desirable not essential.

Role Accountabilities

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. Thats the care for our patients our clients and for each other we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.
In this role you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.

  • Support with surgeries and procedures completing all pre and post procedure activity.

  • Lead manage and promote nurse led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries.

  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.

  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.

  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.

  • Dispense and check medication.

  • Deliver professional excellence implementing and complying with all regulatory practice and operational standards.

  • Inspire your team sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.

  • Engage coach and develop your team.

  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.

  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.

  • Able to confidently lead a clinical team.

  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse clinics and nurse consultations.

  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
