Job Description
Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Farris Lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to investigate the repertoire and specificity of salivary gland and blood lymphocytes in Sjgrens Disease. The successful candidate will have experience in lymphocyte receptor repertoire analysis including knowledge and expertise with available software packages designed to investigate such repertoires. The candidate will interact with other postdocs and scientists working in the area of Sjgrens disease and other rheumatic and autoimmune diseases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a biological science chemistry physics or other relevant area M.D. or equivalent.
- Experience in basic approaches of cellular immunology and molecular biology.
- Motivation and ability to keep abreast of the current literature as well as own experiments.
- Willingness to interact with other members of the laboratory in a way that raises the scientific excellence of the whole group.
- Excellent scientific writing and oral presentation skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in tissue culture techniques cell isolation and flow cytometry analysis.
- Ability to independently plan and implement complex assays.
- Strong working knowledge of molecular biology tools and familiarity with cloning protocols.
