RF Propagation Modeler, Senior

Work Arrangement

Traditional 5 day work week on-site at the office in McLean Virginia.

Job Overview

Designs develops and implements radio frequency (RF) propagation models for wirelesscommunication systems. Utilizes advanced software tools and simulation techniques to analyze andoptimize RF coverage capacity and performance.

Essential Functions

• Generate 2D and 3D RF propagation models using COTs GOTs and custom softwareapplications that employ established propagation algorithms and industry best practices includingmethods that model RF energy diffraction refraction and reflection and take into accountlandscape and surface material types to assess how different frequencies interact with thephysical environment
• Ensure the veracity and validity of these models and their inputs is documented and understoodby non-SMEs
• Convert RF models into established geospatial formats on the Sponsors enclave to guideengineering and operational decisions
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Proficiency in RF simulation tools
• Strong programming skills
• Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g. QGIS ArcGIS) for geospatial RF modeling.
• Ability to interpret drive test data and optimize network parameters.
• Excellent problem-solving analytical and communication skills.

Education / Certifications

BS degree or higher in RF engineering Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience

• 5 years experience performing RF propagation modeling
• Experience working in multidisciplinary technical and engineering teams
