Senior CAD Technician Land Surveying Charlotte NC or Rock Hill SC Senior-Level
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior CAD Technician to support land surveying and civil infrastructure projects. This full-time on-site role is based in Charlotte NC or Rock Hill SC and involves working closely with licensed surveyors on a range of deliverables including topographic and boundary surveys construction staking and structure monitoring.
What Youll Do
Produce CAD documents for survey-related projects ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Analyze field data complete calculations and manage data reduction and mapping.
Supervise and mentor junior technicians and field staff.
Lead quality control of documentation and CAD standards.
Coordinate project assignments and team scheduling.
Prepare cost estimates and assist in developing proposals.
Operate advanced survey technologies including GPS total stations UAV and 3D scanners.
Ensure safety compliance and maintain survey equipment calibration logs.
What You Bring
10 years of experience using CAD platforms ideally within the surveying or civil engineering industry.
Experience as a Survey Crew Chief preferred.
Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D Trimble Business Center Carlson and Inroads is highly desirable.
Ability to interpret design and construction documents accurately.
Strong leadership communication and mentoring capabilities.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel locally.
LSIT certification or desire to obtain PLS is a plus.
