Position Summary:
The Manager Quote position manages complete pricing authority and quotation responsibility for Methodes Power Solutions Group.It requires coordination with marketing management sales management direct sales team indirect sales team (e.g distribution manufacturers representatives) and other corporate functional areas. This position has a direct impact on obtaining and maintaining sales and gross margin for the company. This position will report to the Vice President Sales.
Position Responsibilities:
Understands and facilitates implementation of the pricing and distribution strategy.
Develop detailed cost estimates based on customer RFQs engineering drawings BOMs and specifications
Prepare formal quote packages including pricing breakdowns assumptions and supporting documentation.
Analyze materials labor tooling overhead and logistics costs to determine total project cost and margin targets.
Communicates competitive information to sales and engineering teams.
Coordinates effective date of price changes and the distribution of the new pricing to minimize order resolution issues.
Works with operations engineering and sales management to obtain and maintain profitable business.
Obtains necessary input from the sales engineering quality operations and purchasing regarding quotation development.
Reviews revises and approves all quotes.
Maintains won/lost analysis of all quotes.
Performs quote realization analysis.
Works with Customer Service in resolving quote-related order resolution issues.
Assists Claims in resolving ship and debit resolution issues.
Participates in joint sales calls as needed to key strategic accounts.
Follows critical jobs through to completion.
Assists with technical issues where possible.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
5 years cost estimating quote preparation or pricing analysis experience
Professional verbal and excellent written skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Above average knowledge of electrical products and their application
Knowledge of costing software or tools such as aPriori Costimator or others.
High sense of urgency
Strong analytical skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in cost estimating quote preparation or pricing analysis in the manufacturing sector.
Proficiency with ERP systems cost modeling tools and MS Excel (advanced).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as stamping forming machining powder-coating plating and final assembly.
Familiarity with electrical mechanical and metallurgical terminology and processes.
Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive suppliers and/or experience working in the Military or Aerospace industries.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
