Job Description

The Opportunity

Join a dynamic and highly regarded Restructuring & Insolvency (R&I) team at a leading mid-sized commercial law firm in Hong Kong. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside seasoned practitioners who are at the forefront of complex R&I matters representing a diverse clientele including creditors debtors insolvency practitioners and investors.

The team is expanding to meet the growing demand driven by economic volatility offering you the chance to deepen your expertise in both contentious and transactional R&I work. You will collaborate closely with the firms top-tier disputes and corporate teams gaining exposure to high-stakes cases and innovative restructuring solutions. WHAT

  • Handle a broad spectrum of R&I matters including formal insolvency proceedings distressed M&A debt restructuring and creditor/debtor advisory work.
  • Lead on contentious insolvency cases from litigation strategy to enforcement actions.
  • Draft and negotiate complex restructuring agreements financing documents and transactional deliverables.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships acting as a trusted advisor on high-profile matters.
  • Adapt quickly to evolving legal and market trends contributing to the teams growth and innovation.

YOU

  • 4-7 years PQE (Hong Kong or equivalent common law jurisdiction).
  • Hong Kong admission preferred though exceptional candidates with international experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in restructuring transactions and contentious insolvency proceedings.
  • Exceptional English drafting skills and a solid grasp of contract and finance law fundamentals.
  • A self-starter who can manage matters independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to guide juniors and work seamlessly with senior partners.
  • Elite law firm training and outstanding academic credentials.
  • Commercial acumen versatility and the ability to navigate cross-border insolvency regimes.
