Junior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Peterborough
Term: Permanent
Salary: 28000 - 32000 per annum
A growing engineering company based in Peterborough is seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or early-career engineer to develop their skills and gain valuable industry experience in a supportive environment.
The Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following:
A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
12 years of industry experience (placement or post-graduation)
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
Good understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Eagerness to learn and develop professionally
The Junior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
Supporting the senior design team in developing mechanical components and assemblies
Creating 3D models and 2D technical drawings using CAD software
Participating in design reviews and incorporating feedback
Assisting with the preparation of BOMs and technical documentation
Working with production and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
Supporting ongoing projects from concept through to completion
