Contributes to workgroups and/or functions as a technical expert related to the support of remote end users and/or managed and participating franchise hotels in the Americas. Responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to Americas IT associates Marriott end users vendors and other key stakeholders on technologies within the Marriott environment. Reviews and documents internal processes systems standards and key performance indicators. Generally works within well-established guidelines to complete routine tasks. Responsible for day to day execution of audits reporting needs and IT specific services related to technology and security planning service desk engagement implementation and maintenance. Has knowledge of sophisticated technology equipment/processes and Marriott proprietary systems. Has knowledge of Networking and Server/Desktop Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows based Operating System) and an understanding of local property technical configurations and the impact on operations. Works well in a virtual / remote environment.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
High school diploma or GED; 2-4 years experience in the Information Technology or related professional area.
OR
2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration Information Technology or related major; 2 years experience or related professional area.
Preferred:
Equivalent work experience preferably within the hospitality industry at a major hotel chain in like Information Technology positions.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Technology Needs
Drives the compliance of IT policies and standards thereby protecting company hardware software and other resources at the hotel.
Clearly and effectively articulates the Americas IT requirements for Property Infrastructure to Americas IT Associates and franchise partners.
Maintains and upgrades existing systems as required to maximize effective use and operational uptime to minimize revenue impacting issues.
Troubleshoots technical issues.
Creates risk mitigation plans.
Collaborates with Project Leads and IT team to resolve issues and produce viable and consistent solutions.
Manages small to medium projects and business processes with little supervision or guidance.
Building and Sustaining Relationships with Customers
Develops strong understanding of local property technical configurations and the impact on operations.
Writes and presents proposals analyses project plans cost models etc. in written and/or oral formats.
Provides customer service.
Responds to inquiries from customers/vendors/peer group.
Provides detailed status reports as requested.
Maintains an awareness of the interrelationships among on-going activities and plans work assignments and resource allocations accordingly.
Creates system guidelines and manuals for the organization.
Runs training sessions and workshops on system processes.
Conducts regular reviews of systems and generates reports on efficiencies and improvement areas.
Structures and prioritizes business requirements and communicates plans with stakeholders for review and approval.
Verifying Client Technology Needs are Met
Provides input and follows standard SOPs for security compliance change control and DR.
Serves as escalation point and reference to field IT associates for implementation needs and requirements.
Audits Americas IT inventories for compliance (i.e. verifying software inventory compliance hardware inventories).
Assists in disaster recovery and business continuity as it relates to technology.
Provides technical guidance.
Provides escalation and guidance to property pertaining to guest and associate internet access requirements.
Escalates problems as appropriate through direct supervisor and/or IT resources.
Provides project support for corporate regional and property initiatives.
Completes other reasonable duties as requested by leadership.
The pay range for this position is $26.82 to $46.16 per hour. In addition the position is eligible for an annual bonus.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
