Job Description

Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Corrections - Estancia NM
Location: Estancia New Mexico
Schedule: Night shift 12-hour shifts (3x per week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possibility to extend)
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Weekly Gross: $1442


Job Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time contract assignment in a correctional facility in Estancia NM. The LPN will assist with the provision of medical services to inmates/residents including medication administration sick call support and clinical documentation. Candidates must be comfortable working in secure settings and must meet facility clearance requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and operate pill call
  • Assist physicians during exams treatments and sick call
  • Perform clinical procedures within LPN licensure scope
  • Maintain inventory and control of medications and medical supplies
  • Document care activities and patient behavior per facility protocols
  • Support emergency medical procedures and interventions as needed
  • Monitor for and report catastrophic health concerns
  • Assist with audits reporting and regulatory compliance
  • Escort patients within the facility for medical care
  • Support NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation efforts
  • Maintain confidentiality of records and ensure safety standards are met


Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited LPN program
  • Active unrestricted LPN license in NM
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with valid Social Security card for clearance
  • Must reside 70 miles away from the facility
  • Must be available to start within 2 weeks
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Must have open availability including weekends and holidays
  • No RTO (Requested Time Off) allowed during assignment

Preferred:

  • Experience in correctional or institutional healthcare settings
  • Familiarity with pharmacy compliance emergency procedures and patient triage
  • Strong communication and crisis de-escalation skills
  • Active AHA BLS certification
