Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Brentwood to assist with the appointment of a Refuse Driver on a 3-month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 16.01- 20.28 per hour
Summary:
The Refuse Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of waste collection vehicles across Brentwood Borough. This role involves driving and operating refuse vehicles to collect household commercial and recyclable waste while ensuring adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations. A DVLA web check will be required to verify eligibility to drive Council vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive waste collection vehicles including loading and unloading duties as required.
- Ensure the vehicle is roadworthy by carrying out daily checks and reporting defects.
- Adhere to health safety and environmental regulations at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and security of the vehicle including completion of relevant documentation.
- Support the Councils waste and recycling goals through responsible collection practices.
Qualifications:
- Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
Essentials:
- Previous experience in driving large commercial vehicles preferably in a waste management or local authority setting.
- Valid Category C (Class 2) UK driving licence.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Able to pass a DVLA licence check via web validation system.

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have a right to work in U.K.
