Rate of Pay: 18.80 - 23.91 per hour
Summary:
This role is a key delivery role within the Accountancy Business Partnership Service helping to ensure the Service delivers it key objectives at an operational level and supports the Accountancy Business Change Managers in the Operational delivery of the Accountancy Business Partnership Service function.
Responsibilities:
- To support senior managers in the operational delivery of the Service. This may include the day-to-day supervision of staff allocated to them for the delivery of the part of the service allocated to them. (Normally no more than 2 staff).
- To contribute as required to the development of strategies policies and practices that help maintain the financial stability and probity of the Council.
- To advise officers of the Council on Finance issues in respect of the services for which they are responsible.
- To contribute as required to ensuring that the Councils processes and procedures are continuously reviewed and updated to reflect the strategies promote effective financial management and deliver value for money.
- To contribute as required into the development and implement of service plans including delivery targets to ensure the service meets its responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Candidate must have an understanding of key aspects of the Council and the main challenges and constraints facing it.
- Candidate must have an understanding of national and local political issues and culture.
- Candidate must have an understanding of the key strategic issues facing Local Government.
- Candidate must have experience of driving efficiency and supporting strategic decision making through analysis performance reporting and challenge.
- Candidate must have an ability to successfully analyse complex issues and situations and provide practical and creative solution.
- Candidate must be able to work collaboratively across boundaries and with external partners.
- Candidate must be able to advise officers of the Council on finance matters.
- Candidate must have an understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and diversity in service delivery and employment.
