Under the supervision of the department director or manager the Project Manager is responsible for the management scheduling budgeting/finance change management and continuous improvement of major ITS organizational projects. Serves as a resource to all staff within the ITS division.
Education
Two years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g. Associates Degree).
Certification Registration & Licensure
Certification required: Project Management Professional (PMP).
Experience
Ten years project management experience within ITS or specific business area.
Responsibilities
Promotes the ITS project management role and processes; utilizes ITS core tools for all projects
managed.
Leads development of project plan identifies and schedules project personnel and deliverables.
Prepares technical reviews with ITS Technical Services group.
Manages project expenses to budget.
Assists department manager with the preparation of a Cost-Benefit Analysis using a standard cost benefit template.
Prepares project status and/or Executive Summary reports.
Incorporates logic data knowledge and feedback from others into problem resolution and improved
business decisions.
Adheres to project change request process to formalize any project scope changes after the Charter has been approved.
Uses ITS Project Trak to communicate project updates.
Employs cross team engagement of ITS resources.
Models strong leadership skills.
Participates in Admin on-call rotation as assigned.
Endorses supports and champions the outcomes of ITS process improvement initiatives.
Complies with ITS Policies and Procedures.
Creates and maintains IT system documentation per the IT Documentation Policy.
