Job Description
General Purpose and scope of the position:
The lab assistant will be responsible for creating a learning environment that enables students to reach their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the school. This position is a part-time temporary position filled each semester on an as-needed basis.
Major Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned training/skills in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College; show evidence of developing and implementing active laboratory teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
- Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner; comply with College policies campus guidelines and expectations.
- Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for labs and all learning environments.

Minimum Requirements:
A qualified lab assistant in medical assisting meets the following criteria:
- Possess a valid CMA RMA or CCMA certification
- 2 years work experience as a Medical Assistant
