Reports to: Battery Test Lab Supervisor
Job Type: Non-Exempt Full-Time
Locations: Fremont CA (On-site)

Summary
As a Battery Test Technician you are responsible for performing tests on batteries to ensure they meet performance standards and requirements. The Battery Test Technician will perform tasks in conditioning and testing Amprius Technologies proprietary silicon anode Li-Ion cells. This is a temporary role with the opportunity to be converted to a regular employee.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine tests on Amprius batteries to evaluate performance safety and quality.
- Utilize tools/equipment such as pneumatic cutter electric drill degas machine and formation machine.
- Load cells into test fixtures set-up and execute electrical cell tests.
- Measure cells using mass scale digital multi-meter and caliper.
- Perform visual inspections to identify and evaluate potential defects.
- Identify and escalate failures or unexpected behaviors to the Engineering Team within defined response time.
- Monitor and maintain testing equipment and calibrate as needed.
- Participate in troubleshooting and identifying causes with Engineers and Technicians.
- Accurate documentation of the data.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives towards better efficiency and safety.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.
- Follow safety guidelines for handling battery components.
Requirements
- Proficient in use of hand tools power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Comfortable performing manual tasks requiring precision and manual dexterity.
- Basic understanding of electrical connections and testing software.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Follow technical instructions for test procedures precisely and document results accurately.
- Motivated to new challenges and embrace learning new techniques and refining existing techniques.
- Autonomous personable positive and a good teammate.
- Organized detail oriented and clear written and verbal communication skills.
Education Certifications Experience
- High School Diploma GED or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an equipment operator or technician in one of the following industries: Semiconductor solar battery electronics or automotive.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Demands & Work Location:
- Fremont CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
- Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
- May be required to stand sit squat bend kneel twist crawl reach lift balance push and pull.
- Adhere to companys safety protocol and use personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to a lab coat gloves safety glasses face mask respirator and safety shoes.
- Data entry requires ability to operate a computer and keyboard.
Work Schedule
- Alternate Workweek Schedule (AWS): 3-days x 12-hour / 4-days x 12-hour every other week.
- Shift timings are from 5:30 pm to 6:00 am

- Salary: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour. Depending on knowledge skills and experience.
