In support of upcoming projects Bird Construction is reaching out to market to identify candidates interested in the Junior Scheduler position. Potential start date of March/April 2025.Support the implementation of project controls procedures on assigned projects.
Assist in developing and maintaining Develop and maintain detailed project schedules ensuring the identification of key milestones critical paths and resource loading and leveling that align with project objectives.
Analyze schedules to identify duration and logic issues.
Monitor project progress update project status and identify variances from baseline schedules proposing corrective actions.
Assist with impact analysis for potential delays and changes and prepare construction claims and time-related disputes.
Update project schedules based on changes in scope timeline or resources ensuring proper documentation.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to integrate schedule data into project control reports.
Provide scheduling support during the planning and tendering phase considering scheduling risks and opportunities.
Assist in conducting schedule risk analyses and supporting the development of mitigation strategies.
Support the Lead Scheduler in coordinating scheduling activities to ensure efficiency.
Ensure compliance with company and client standards for all planning and scheduling activities.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of planning and scheduling disciplines and techniques including the ability to interpret and analyze computerized schedule data and systems. A more in-depth knowledge of industry-specific sequencing is required. Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field.
Proficiency in planning and scheduling software (e.g. Primavera P6 Microsoft Project Synchro).
Advanced capability in the use of Microsoft Excel MS Office (MS Word MS Powerpoint MS Outlook) and data analysis tools. Ability to create project reporting using project data interfacing with PowerBI MS Excel Word.
Relevant experience in project planning and scheduling typically 3-6 years.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Understanding of earned value management principles and risk management.
Preferred:
Professional qualifications (e.g. PMP PSP or AACE certification).
Experience in the construction industry particularly in civil or industrial projects.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and practices.
