Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY: MAINTAINS AND UPGRADES ALL HOSPITAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. PERFORMS ELECTRICAL TESTING OF ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT TO ENSURE THAT JCAHO AND OTHER STANDARDS ARE MET. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS I NSTALLS REPAIRS REPLACES AND TESTS ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS AND EQUIPMENT SYSTEMS ARE HEATING VENTILATING AND AIR CONDITION AND EMERGENCY POWER GENERATING EQUIPMENT. READS AND INTERPRETS BLUEPRINTS AND INSTALLS WIRING TO THEIR SPECIFICATIONS. - ESTIMATES COST OF ELECTRICAL JOBS. - REQUESTS ADMINISTRATIVE PERMITS FOR INSTALLATION. - TESTS EQUIPMENT FOR GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR UPON COMPLETION OF WORK. - PERFORMS ALL WORK IN A NEAT AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER. - MUST BE FLEXIBLE FOR PROJECT SUPPORT AND SHIFT COVERAGE. JUDGEMENT/DECISION MAKING - Makes independent decisions within the scope of defined job description. - Seeks guidance as necessary for performance of duties. - Identifies a situation opportunity problem or issue assesses it from a variety of perspectives considers several alternatives; chooses appropriate course of action when presented with non-routine situations. - Prioritizes work to meet department/hospital needs standards and deadlines. - Identifies and responds appropriately to needs of patients and others. - Communicates pertinent information to appropriate persons in a timely manner. JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS - Demonstrates proper use of equipment and supplies according to established procedures. - Assures equipment is maintained in safe and proper working order. - Adheres to department/hospital policies and procedures in performing duties and assignments.Qualifications
