Job Description

OVERVIEW

The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of St. Thomas is seeking a candidate for a tenure-track position in Clinical/Counseling Psychology beginning Fall 2026. Teaching responsibilities include:

  • Teaching 5-6 courses depending on lab load per academic year delivered both in-person and online
  • Courses are at the undergraduate level and may include introductory psychology psychopathology testing and assessment counseling and psychotherapy or personality theories depending on candidate expertise.
  • We also encourage applicants who can develop new courses that will strengthen curricular emphasis on cultural diversity in the clinical/counseling area

In addition to teaching faculty responsibilities include:

  • Student advising and research mentoring
  • maintaining an active scholarship agenda
  • providing service to the department and/or university
  • working with department colleagues to continually strengthen and advance the program.

The Psychology department seeks to attract retain and develop faculty from all backgrounds to enhance the diversity of our learning community and to offer students richly varied perspectives. St. Thomas also houses the APA accredited Graduate School of Professional Psychology offering opportunities for faculty collaboration. SALARY AND BENEFITS

The University of St. Thomas offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits program which includes:

The salary range is for this position is $65000-$73000.

The University of St. Thomas has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information.

QUALIFICATIONS

A doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology; U.S. or foreign equivalent) from an APA-accredited program and completion of internship required or alternatively ABD nearing completion (with appointment at the rank of instructor) will be considered. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and show strong potential for productive research/scholarly activities.
