DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Spanish Immersion Preschool Teacher is responsible for delivering a full Spanish-language early childhood program for children ages 2.5 to 5 years. This teacher will foster language development social-emotional growth and early academic skills through immersive hands-on learning in a warm structured and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate is fluent in Spanish has a strong understanding of early childhood development and is passionate about bilingual education.
Key Responsibilities:
Language & Communication
- Speak Spanish fluently and use it consistently during all classroom instruction and interaction
- Support and encourage Spanish language development through songs stories routines and open-ended conversation
- Understand students English when needed and communicate with families and staff in conversational English
- Model clear and rich language to support vocabulary development and comprehension
Curriculum Implementation
- Implement and enhance a developmentally appropriate hands-on curriculum delivered entirely in Spanish
- Collaborate with the Spanish Immersion team to align instruction with program goals
- Adapt activities and lessons to meet the developmental needs of diverse learners
- Plan and prepare daily lessons routines and transitions that balance structure with creativity
Classroom Management
- Establish daily routines that promote consistency safety and independence
- Use positive guidance strategies to support appropriate behavior and emotional regulation
- Provide engaging hands-on learning experiences that hold students attention and encourage exploration
- Create a respectful and nurturing environment with clear age-appropriate boundaries
Classroom Environment
- Maintain a clean organized and inviting classroom space
- Ensure materials and resources are accessible safe and support immersive learning
- Set up learning centers and visual supports that reflect both Spanish language and early childhood best practices
- Follow all school licensing and Spanish Immersion program policies and procedures
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Communicate clearly and professionally with parents regarding student progress and classroom updates
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a supportive team culture
- Demonstrate discretion professionalism and integrity in all interactions
- Accept feedback constructively and respond with growth-oriented action
- Use sound judgment especially in managing classroom dynamics and unexpected situations
RequirementsQualifications:
- Fluent in Spanish (native or near-native level)
- Conversational English required for parent and staff communication
- Minimum of 12 ECE (Early Childhood Education) units; Associates or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- 2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom setting
- Strong classroom management curriculum planning and child development knowledge
- Enthusiastic nurturing and passionate about bilingual learning and early childhood education
