Summary:
The Tray Passer / Team Leader plays a vital role in supporting hospital food service operations by safely assembling delivering and retrieving patient trays while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service. This position also assists in various food service tasks supports sanitation procedures and helps guide and train new staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
Essential Functions:
Attends departmental meetings in-services and training sessions as assigned.
Anticipates customer needs and addresses any concerns in a timely professional manner.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas equipment and food stations.
Adheres to HACCP standards and food safety protocols.
Informs supervisors of concerns product shortages or discrepancies.
Supports department goals to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Assembles patient trays accurately and delivers meals directly to patient rooms.
Cleans and restocks stations and equipment after each meal service.
May operate dish machines and trash compactors and assist with general cleaning tasks including mopping.
Prepares supplemental food items for patient meal service as needed.
Participates in sanitation projects and ensures compliance with department hygiene standards.
Assists with onboarding and cross-training of new and current staff.
