Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Mechanic I&E located in Belle Chasse LA through July 29th 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Overview:
The Mechanic is an hourly position that works closely with other Mechanics to complete daily actives for the I&E maintenance craft. The Mechanic will directly interface with head mechanics foreman and engineers of other crafts. The Mechanics daily activities may include field execution of work orders identifying parts troubleshooting equipment issues keeping equipment files up to date etc. The Mechanic will report back to Head Mechanic and Operations / Maintenance Coordinator as to the work status work progress any issues and what steps were taken to correct the issues. The Mechanic will be expected to attend trainings pertaining to the craft. The Mechanic works closely with the Lab Storeroom Procurement Reliability Engineering and Operations and must develop a good working relationship with these departments. The Mechanic work will involve the use of a CMMS system for workorder failure code entry material check out etc. The Mechanic work may also involve use of other computer programs to track work progress or develop reports.

Responsibilities / Expectations for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated competency within the craft.

  • Demonstrated commitment and record of working safely and proactively identifying and correcting safety issues.

  • Demonstrated application of the Chevron Way Behaviors

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams and on projects etc.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with working in SAP and other computer programs necessary to support the craft (MS Word MS Excel Ariba etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively execute Routine Maintenance and Shutdown work.

  • Demonstrated proactive approach to resolving maintenance issues and troubleshooting skills within the craft.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both oral and written to supervisors mechanics operators and engineers.

  • Demonstrated proactive approach to using vendors to support the craft

  • Demonstrated ownership in managing your area of responsibility working with management identifying opportunities and addressing issues.

  • Demonstrated excellent file management skills both hard files and computer files.

  • Demonstrated excellent customer support relationship.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Fully Qualified Mechanic

  • Minimum of 5 years I&E or Analyzer experience.

  • Valid Drivers License

  • Candidates must be able to obtain a TWIC card before employment

Relocation Options:
Relocation will not be considered.

International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
