About the Role:
As a Mechanical Engineer you will play a vital role in designing developing and overseeing the implementation of mechanical systems and equipment within the airport facility. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless functioning of the airports infrastructure ensuring safety efficiency and passenger comfort.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
Design analyze and optimize mechanical systems ensuring they meet project requirements for performance safety and efficiency. This role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the development and implementation of engineering solutions across various projects.
Key Responsibility:
- Design analyze and develop mechanical systems including HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) plumbing fire suppression and other related systems ensuring they meet project specifications codes and standards.
- Evaluate and select appropriate mechanical equipment such as chillers pumps fans boilers and other machinery required for the airports operation considering factors like energy efficiency cost-effectiveness and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects structural engineers electrical engineers and project managers to contribute to the overall project planning and design process.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings schematics specifications and other technical documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with mechanical systems and propose effective solutions to mitigate these risks and ensure reliable operations.
- Monitor and supervise the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems ensuring that contractors adhere to project plans quality standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections and testing of mechanical installations to verify their functionality efficiency and compliance with project specifications.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules related to mechanical engineering aspects and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery within allocated resources.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and airport infrastructure and integrate innovative practices to enhance system performance and sustainability.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Masters degree is a plus.
- A professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience is required in mechanical engineering with a focus on infrastructure projects or large-scale facilities.
- Proficiency in using CAD software for drafting and design
