Job Description
The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease.
- Prepares patients and performs screening or diagnostic exams as ordered by physicians. Also responsible for performing bone densitometry studies.
- Produces high quality images with appropriate comparison studies as indicated to the Radiologist in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates a high level of technical competency (utilization of imaging system and safe operating procedures) and clinical competency (patient positioning knowledge of anatomy/physiology) in performing all exams/ procedures.

The Fauquier Health system offers patient care for a variety of specialty services including Orthopedics and Spine a Cardiac Catheterization Lab and robotic-assisted surgery. The fourth floor of the hospital is devoted to our Family Birthing Center and Intermediate Care Nursery.

Minimum Education
Graduate from an Accredited Program in one or more medical imaging modalities as described below. (Relevant certifications listed below accepted as documentation)
Minimum Work Experience
Preferred - 1 years of experience as a registered technologist in the appropriate modality
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

X Basic Life Support (BLS)
X Certified in good standing with appropriate professional registry
Certified in good standing with appropriate professional registry:
Mammography: Certified as Radiology Technologist ( Or become ARRT Mammography Registered within 12 mos. of hire)
