A Brief Overview
Supports clinic physicians by proficiently operating the Electronic Medical Record by efficiently entering orders and documenting patient encounters for the physician; allowing physicians to focus their time on direct patient care. While this is not a direct patient care position the individual may be called on periodically to perform patient care to assure efficient patient flow and high quality care and services.
What you will do
- Learns and maintains proficient understanding and utilization of the Electronic Medical Record software.
- Provides accurate completed legible and timely documentation of all patient encounters and procedures in the medical record.
- Enters accurate complete legible and timely orders based on physicians orders in the medical record.
- Works collaboratively as a team member with the physician nurse(s) and receptionists in a clinic setting to provide exceptional patient care.
- Maintains knowledge of preauthorization process and ensures all criteria are met before orders for advanced imaging are placed.
- Ensures that the encounters have complete and accurate diagnoses and that documentation supports the appropriate billing/coding levels.
- Ensures that all documentation enhances compliance with applicable documentation standards including Meaningful Use.
- Assists Physician with clinical quality measures and chronic disease management documentation and process.
- Assists with a patient-centered approach to each encounter that maximizes patient satisfaction and outcomes.

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
