Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Salary: Up to 75k
Job Type: Permanent
Location: On-site in Reading

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design and engineering of major mechanical components and subsystems guiding their technical direction.
- Play a hands-on role in larger projects identifying and resolving performance or design issues within existing mechanical systems.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers encouraging growth and collaboration within the team.
- Help shape and continuously refine development practices tools and workflows for greater efficiency and innovation.
Requirements:
- 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience designing and building mechanical systems for automation and handling of small components
- Familiarity with high-speed automated systems for material transfer
- Strong problem-solving skills and a creative solutions-focused mindset
- Proficient in SolidWorks for mechanical design
- Hands-on experience working with stepper and servo motors as well as automated material handling equipment
Desirable Experience:
- Background in designing durable high-precision system
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing
- Developed low-power automated machines or devices such as animatronics vending units or automation in food/pharmaceutical production
