Description/Job Summary
Job Summary: Operates inspects and conducts maintenance activities on equipment related to the milling of rice to ensure that the equipment is functioning properly is well maintained and product is within specifications/requirements. Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of the mill area. Dry cleaning using compressed air and sweeping of equipment and structures of the area(s) on a defined frequency. Mill Operator is responsible for completing and maintaining records for production and monitoring records (magnet inspections temperature checks and pressure checks) inspection records maintenance records and sanitation records. Also responsible for notifying supervisor/management of any quality food safety or food security issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must possess basic math and measurement skills. (add subtract multiply divide read tape measure)
- Must possess basic mechanical skills. (Using screwdrivers wrenches clamps etc.
- Must possess good communication skills to communicate with Whitener Trainee and Shift Supervisor.
- Must possess basic computer skills and be willing to be trained in operating equipment (control panels probes etc. in the Mill Department)
- Must be willing and able to lift up to 80-100 lbs. as needed throughout the day.
- Must be willing and able to bend stoop push pull twist and turn throughout the day.
- Must be willing and able to tolerate working in hot and cold temperatures for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing and able with or without accommodation to work at heights up to 140 feet off the ground.
- Must be willing and able to wear the required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Must be willing and able to follow all safety and food safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
