Job Description

The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal plays an essential role in supporting attorneys throughout all phases of complex commercial real estate transactions and closings. This full-time position requires a high level of organization attention to detail and the flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet transaction deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive support to attorneys on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions from initial contracts and loan commitments through closing and post-closing matters

Assist with due diligence tasks including reviewing titles and surveys preparing title objection letters analyzing leases and conducting municipal lien UCC judgment and litigation searches

Prepare organizational documents and assist with entity formation processes

Draft and manage critical documents such as closing checklists timelines of important dates title commitments and policies closing statements affidavits entity authorizations and customary closing materials

Oversee preparation of closing binders and provide additional transaction support as needed for both local and national matters

Requirements

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong professional communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels including management and support teams

  • Proactive self-starter who can grasp complex details while maintaining awareness of the broader business context

  • Demonstrated precision dependability and a quick aptitude for mastering new technologies

  • Exceptional client service mindset and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously maintaining organization and efficiency with minimal oversight

  • Comfortable working under pressure and consistently meeting challenging deadlines

Education & Experience

  • At least ten years of experience as a paralegal specializing in Commercial Real Estate gained in a mid-to-large law firm commercial title insurance company or comparable professional environment

  • Bachelor s degree and paralegal certification preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered

Technical Proficiency

  • Skilled with commercial real estate software particularly WebAtids DisplaySoft and Propel

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) and Windows-based platforms
