Job Description

The designer will be working with a cross-functional team of Optical Thermal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to develop structural and alignment components for a Ground Station that will communicate with satellites with Lasers.
The work will involve development of solid models as well as machining and assembly drawings.
Designs new products and makes improvements to existing products using computer aided design (CAD) using CREO software.
May evaluate products parts or processes for cost efficiency and reliability and ensure project completion. Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner.
Requires a college diploma or a bachelors degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts practices and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and has a good understanding of GD&T as well as machining processes.
Performs a variety of tasks.
May lead and direct the work of others.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
