Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Provides a ministry of pastoral care and counseling to patients families and staff in crises of illness and/or trauma. Provides resources of religious faith that will enhance the total program of treatment and care.

  • This is a full-time/exempt term position lasting six months to one year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as Liaison to community clergy and congregations.
Provides pastoral care to patients and families.
Provides Pastoral Care to staff and faculty.
Provides regular opportunities for worship.
Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:
Patient Assessment (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient assessments in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
Crisis Intervention (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate crisis intervention in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
Adult Learning (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the Adult Learning skill in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
Spiritual Knowledge (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of spiritual knowledge in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge training and experience to be capable of successfully delivering spiritual knowledge services without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example giving technical instruction providing leadership and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.

Qualifications:

Role requires High School Diploma/GED and less than 1 year of experience.

NOTE:

A Term position is a staff position that exists for a period longer than six months but is not expected to last beyond one year. Although a position may exist for a specified or indefinite period staff who accept term positions are not guaranteed employment for the entire period; they are employed for indefinite periods within the limit of the appointment. There are no guarantees of continued employment either within the term or when the term ends.
