Design Advanced Learning/Individual Career and Academic Plans (ALP/ICAP) for secondary students and monitor effective implementation of the with students parents and teachers to explain and customize ALPs and gifted services. Work with teachers to develop enrichment models for gifted learners. Provide professional learning and resources to teachers to meet the needs of advanced and gifted students. Coordinate social emotional and academic services with Counseling Department. Assist in the identification of gifted students. Coordinate transition services for students moving from middle school to high school. Guide gifted students in college and career planning. Support students and attend regional and state-level academic competitions.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:
- Participate in district GT PLC and school-level meetings focusing on student learning and individual growth/goals.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of a school-wide culture that promotes professional growth and gifted student learning.
- Provide support and knowledge of gifted learners that inspires and encourages the professional growth of teachers and ensure resources are available and utilized for the enhancement of student learning.
- Contribute to the professional development of other teachers including but not limited to modeling the use and application of best practices foradvanced learners and peer support with lesson planning consistent with state standards and district goals.
- Support teachers in the adaptation of instruction to meet the learning needs of advanced learners thus increasing the probability of advancing their achievement.
- Promote and maintain student behavior expectations conducive to learning and maximizing learning time.
- Establish and demonstrate positive relationships with students parents other staff members and the community.
- Maintain an ongoing program of professional growth in gifted education that meets District requirements and expectations and personal professional goals.
- Contribute to the decisions made by the District and School regarding school student achievement goals budget facility allocation curriculum revision and extra-curricular activities.
- Ensure the accuracy completeness confidentiality and security of all student information.
- Comply with District and School policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree required.
- Active teacher authorization or license issued by the State of Colorado.
- Must be Highly Qualified according to Colorados definition of a Highly Qualified teacher.
- Endorsement in gifted education preferred not required.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
