Job Description
Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Laboratory Engineer for The Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation within the School of Engineering. This position reports directly to the Project Engineer II position at the Rutgers University Asphalt/Pavement Laboratory ( RAPL ) within the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation ( CAIT ). Among the key duties of the position are the following: Supports pavement-related research activities under the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation ( CAIT ) at Rutgers University. Performs professional standardized and research grade level experiments and analysis on pavement construction and performance. Conducts data analysis of large datasets and provide concise and organized research reports/reporting. Presentation of data and resultant analysis may also be required. Develops and publishes technical reports and peer-reviewed journal articles as well as assists and develops research proposals. Trains and leads students and technicians in a variety of established field testing procedures and should have some experience doing so.

Preferred Qualifications
A masters degree or higher in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline. Prefers three years of experience in asphalt materials pavement testing or related fields. Experience with data analysis tools particularly MATLAB is strongly preferred. Familiarity with pavement performance testing interpreting test results and contributing to data-driven decision-making is desirable. Strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical findings effectively through reports or presentations are also preferred.
