Job Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer will independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of a wide variety of civil engineering principles and practices. The Senior Project Engineer will assist a Project Manager on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features. This position will be required to work with other engineering disciplines within the company. This position will work a hybrid work schedule reporting to the nearest RailPros location.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Manager in managing a project
- Review completed project documents for conformity and quality assurance
- Perform administrative duties related to managing a project
- Assist upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
- Design a complete project system component or process or lead review tasks
- Prepare complete project documents or provide markups for reviewed documents
- Design or provide review of projects
- Analyze and interpret data
- Formulate and solve problems
- Work independently on projects
- Use appropriate discretion to elevate concerns
- Direct communication with client concerning project
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)
- Proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD MicroStation Bentley)
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in project budget and schedule tools
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
- 8 years prior experience needed
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues
- Experience leading project team
Additional Qualifications Certifications etc.:
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Coordinate work with staff necessary to complete assignments
- Assist Project Manager in overseeing scopes budgets and schedules for project
- Prepare proposals to provide professional services
- Training and mentoring of staff
