The New York City Housing Authoritys Department of Resident Services Partnerships and Initiatives (RSPI) engages NYCHA residents in critical programs services and initiatives in the areas of economic opportunity youth senior and social services. RSPI also supports NYCHAs extensive network of Resident Associations; and connects residents to opportunities such as financial empowerment business development career advancement and educational programs.
RSPI has set forth a model of engagement that effectively serves residents as well as internal and external stakeholders to create a comprehensive engagement model that supports residents and NYCHAS strategic plan for preservation and advances the work of the agency.
Family Partnerships (FPD) one of RSPIs six units connects residents to critical services and implements programs and policies that support household stability tenancy individual advancement and aging-in-place. FPD identifies and engages with external providers and City agencies offering youth senior and social services. Furthermore FPD reunites families with justice history.
RSPI seeks an experienced Community Coordinator to support its Family Partnerships team. Reporting to the Director of Family Partnerships responsibilities of the Community Coordinator (Special Projects Coordinator) include but are not limited to the following:
1. Prepare and submit monthly narrative and statistical reports including key metrics and visual aids (charts graphs etc.).
2. Develop manage and execute a portfolio of strategic projects aligned with clearly defined goals and measurable outcomes.
3. Establish and track performance targets monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed to meet project objectives.
4. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive project success and ensure alignment with broader organizational goals.
5. Track expenditures related to Family Partnerships procurement of goods and services; provide regular updates to ensure timely payment processing.
6. Conduct regular project evaluations using both quantitative and qualitative data; solicit stakeholder and resident feedback to guide continuous improvement.
7. Monitor and support ongoing initiatives such as the Summer Meals Program ensuring performance targets are met or exceeded.
8. Lead or assist with special projects including the Family Partnerships Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) Summer Meals Program.
9. Represent NYCHA at external events including resident meetings community gatherings and citywide forums.
10. Perform additional related duties as required by the Director.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
